Choosing A Personal Trainer - Who Is Right For YOU?

Now, with so many options to choose from in a personal trainer, why should you choose us? Well, maybe you shouldn’t. This is a decision that only you can make. But wisdom would dictate that certain fundamental elements should be considered when choosing what trainer would be right for you.

PERSONALITY - Someone with whom you are comfortable, you can trust, you enjoy working with, and you are at ease answering their questions. Your trainer must be a good listener, pay attention to detail, and be genuinely interested in YOU as a person; not just interested in earning a training fee.

CAPABILITY - Someone who has the skill, training, and experience to help you identify your needs, streamline solutions for those needs, and keep you motivated to apply those solutions to your daily lifestyle, so you can reach your goals.

ACCOUNTABILITY - Your trainer must implement a system for tracking your progress, as well as establishing criteria to make you accountable for your daily lifestyle choices.

AFFORDABILITY - No matter how credentialed, skilled, and likeable a personal trainer might be, if you can’t afford his/her services those qualifications won’t benefit you.

ABOUT ME
As a Christian, I believe we have the responsibility to keep our bodies fit, as our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1Corinthians 6:19-20; 1Corinthians 3:16). How others see us is critical to our Christian “witness.” Lack of fitness, is an indication of lack of self-discipline, and a lack of self-discipline tells those around us that we are not able to discipline our lives; a crucial characteristic of a believer’s “witness.” In addition, a healthy and fit lifestyle allows us to continue to be active in our service for the Lord throughout our lifetime.

MY BACKGROUND
I am a degreed personal trainer, turning 61 years of age in 2008. I have always been a very active and athletic individual. I started playing team sports during my early school years, playing football, baseball, running track & field, was on the intra-mural wrestling and boxing team, have been an avid tennis player, racquetball player, have studied several forms of martial arts, body-building and weight training. I have also played golf, but I prefer higher intensity sports. In addition, I have always had an intense interest in understanding how the human body works, and enrolled into college (the University of Missouri at Kansas City) as a pre-med student, immediate following my high school education.

Following time spent in the United States Army, during the Viet Nam War, I became a law enforcement officer for the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department. Obviously, staying fit was very important to me during this time. After spending a number of years in law enforcement (including assignment to a Special Weapons And Tactics Team), I went into corporate management, eventually turning my interests toward a career in health & fitness.

After spending some time as a health & fitness consultant for a major fitness chain, I began working for a high-end private club in Colorado Springs, where I later went into fitness management, and eventually was promoted to the position of General Manager. I was able to greatly enhance my training and experience in helping others achieve their fitness goals during my tenure at this fitness center, as the owner was a licensed physical therapist who was personally engaged in the daily operations of the club, and worked with us to customize appropriate "workouts" our clients. We worked together in creating fitness programs for a wide spectrum of individuals, including those recovering from injury, those de-conditioned due to illness, seniors looking to improve overall fitness to improve their quality of life, as well as those looking to significantly increase their amount of lean muscle mass, while decreasing excess body fat. This broad experience working with a licensed physical therapist, and competitive body builder, further compliments my experience to assist our clients achieve their fitness goals, irrespective of what those goals may be.

Even for those who are extremely de-conditioned - with proper nutrition and training - you can enjoy great benefits in reconditioning your body; beginning to feel better, look better, and live better. YOU CAN DO IT! AND YOU WILL NEVER REGRET TAKING THE STEPS NECESSARY TO IMPROVE YOUR OVERALL HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE!

Are we right for YOU? Only you can make that decision. However, for a very small fee, (less than the cost of a meal at a fine restaurant) we can customize the appropriate program for you, including proper nutrition, activity, and monitoring. It will work for you, as it has for so many others. And we will do everything in our power to help you get to where you want to be.

Email us at williams.fitnesstrainer@yahoo.com, tell us what you are wanting to accomplish, and let us show you what we can do to help before you make a final decision. You have absolutely nothing to lose, and so very much to gain.
